Lafleur, a leading Pomerol wine estate, put its 2019 wine on sale at 5,800 pounds ($7,371) per 12-bottle case in bond, according to London-based online wine market Liv-ex in its Twitter feed.
The price is the same as its release price for its 2018 wines, Liv-ex said. “By releasing at a price equivalent to its 2018, Lafleur stands out as the exception rather than the rule” in the Bordeaux 2019 campaign so far, it said.
Other wine estates have generally put their 2019 wines on sales at discounts, sometimes as high as 30%, to their 2018 wines.
